Since its inception, RED-C IET has built on the traditions and strengths of Islamabad education environment and corporate culture everything. RED-C IET is guided by general principles and values it shares relating to integrity, excellence, community, individuality, diversity and inclusiveness.
Personal integrity and accepting responsibility for one's actions are the cornerstones of leadership. Through our policies, actions, and teaching, we foster a high level of integrity among all our students, faculty, and staff.
By setting high standards for our programs, ourselves as individuals, and for our organization, we strive for excellence in all our endeavors.
People work and learn most effectively through teamwork and within a supportive community. RED-C IET strives to foster a sense of community among all our students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
We honor and value each person in our community as an individual, a commitment that is supported by our small scale.
Diversity and Inclusiveness
Everyone in our community benefits from diversity of cultures, nationalities, and ethnicities and we believe that this diversity is essential to our overall mission of educating future technology leaders. We work to create an environment in which the value of diversity and inclusiveness is understood and celebrated, and we do not tolerate discrimination.
Faculty Scholarship and Teaching
Students learn most effectively from scholar-educators who combine leading-edge research and inspirational teaching. RED-C IET has a full-time faculty who excel in both research and teaching, whose teaching is informed by their research-based expertise and whose academic rigor edifies their students. These same full-time faculty members teach the large majority of courses in the engineering/technology/science program and other RED-C IET offerings.
Student Access to Faculty Expertise
Students' engineering knowledge, analytical skills, and decision making abilities are enhanced by exposure and access to professors' expertise and methods of knowledge discovery. RED-C IET's favorable ratio of students to research-active professors provides an exceptional degree of access to expertise, both in and out of the classroom. In addition to a comprehensive set of core and elective courses, RED-C IET offers unique, small-scale seminars designed to give students in-depth access to our faculty's expertise and critical thinking.
Student Achievement and Diversity
Students learn a great deal from the experiences of their peers and are motivated by belonging to a cooperative community of brilliant colleagues from diverse backgrounds who share a common goal of being leaders. RED-C IET requires that its enrollees have a record of high academic achievement and substantive eagerness to learn. RED-C IET ensures that each entering class encompasses a diverse set of personal, cultural, and engineering/technologies/science experiences and perspectives.
Scale and Focus
Limiting the size of the student body and focusing on specific programs enhances student interaction and allows faculty and staff to concentrate on the quality of the educational experience.
Curriculum and Pedagogy
Leaders of engineering/technologies/science need functional knowledge, practical management skills and the ability to identify and analyze problems from multiple perspectives by using a variety of approaches. RED-C IET's DAE and HSSC program has an integrated core curriculum with rigorous coverage of key functional areas and disciplines. The curriculum provides strong functional expertise and develops practical management skills through active learning, group projects, and simulations. The depth and breadth of our elective offerings allow students to focus on specific areas of study within the context of the broad perspective and cross-functional knowledge required in top management positions.
Cooperation and Teamwork
The abilities to participate in and lead an effective team, to balance competition with collaboration, and to successfully mentor others are essential elements of leadership that can be enhanced in an academic setting.
Students learn the most when they fully immerse themselves in their studies and concentrate on learning from professors and fellow students. The physical setting and intensity of learning experiences are key factors in the effectiveness of a program. RED-C IET's DAE and HSSC study full-time in a residential environment with a close-knit community, providing abundant opportunities for personal and professional development. Our living and learning facilities are designed to encourage complete immersion in learning with a full exchange of ideas and viewpoints.
A student's leadership skills and potential can be enhanced in an academic setting. Innate leadership abilities can be honed by increasing self-awareness through examining informed feedback, observing role models and experiencing leadership roles.
RED-C IET provides a comprehensive leadership development program, including leadership coverage in core courses, comprehensive feedback mechanisms, personalized coaching, multiple leadership opportunities and a broad array of visiting executives to serve as role models.
