Mechanical engineering is a highly versatile and diversified engineering discipline. On the one hand, it is concerned with the design of machines and equipments that use energy and convert it into useful work; on the other hand, it deals with the design and development of those machines that are used for Manufacturing /production of equipment. Mechanical engineers design and develop everything you think of as a machine from supersonic fighter jets to bicycles to toasters. And they influence the design of other products such as shoes, light bulbs and even doors. Many mechanical engineers specialize in areas such as manufacturing, robotics, automotive transportation, air conditioning, artificial organs and the expanding field of nano technology. The mechanical engineer may design a component, a machine, a system or a process. Mechanical engineers analyze their design by applying the principal of motion, energy and force to ensure the safe, efficient, reliable and cost effective manufacturing of products.
Career Prospects
After completing the diploma, students can work in Heavy Mechanical Industries, NDC, Suparco, PMO, Pak Air Force, Pakistan Army, PIA, Nuclear Energy Commission, Manufacturing, Power Plant, Design of Static & Dynamic Program and Heavy Mechanical Complex etc.
